To sum it up, larger people demand larger vehicles than needed (wastes fuel), accidents can be more lethal (death isn't cheap), and vehicles also use more gas carrying the extra weight:

On an individual level, weight is not a huge impact on fuel efficiency. The EPA estimates that an extra 100 pounds can impact fuel efficiency by 1-2 percent, reports autobloggreen. With gas priced at $3.25 per gallon, that would translate into 3 to 6 cents per gallon wasted due to extra weight.

This is not a lot, but the statistic becomes more meaningful when considering the nation as a whole. One study at Entrepreneur.com gives a nice perspective:

The key finding is that nearly one billion gallons of additional fuel per year can be attributed to the average weight gain between 1960 and 2002 of people living in the United States. This represents nearly three times the total amount of fuel consumed by all passenger vehicles each day based on current driving habits, or approximately 0.7% of the total amount of fuel consumed by passenger vehicles annually.

Yet another great reason to do something about the extra weight TODAY. Regenerative Eating makes it easy, especially if you love to eat. I know I do!

 

Start by just eating carbs and sweet fruits at separate meals from proteins and acid fruits. This means substitute compatible items for starchy or sweet things when eating meat. When eating carbs, avoid most fruits and all animal proteins (if it comes from an animal, don't eat it with bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, etc.).
